Ulan Complex will be holding their Site familiarisation (required whether working on surface or underground) at Club Mudgee on Tuesdays immediately after the Xstrata Generic starting at approximately 2:30pm and running for approximately 1 hour. If you are required to work at the Ulan Complex you must have made either a booking for a Generic Induction or attended the Generic Induction prior to submitting all required paperwork to DMS a minimum of 5 full business days prior to the Familiarisation date. If you have confirmed a Generic induction booking you must have attended that Induction prior to the Familiarisation date.
If you are required to work Underground at the Ulan Complex you will be required to book into and attend an Underground Induction that will be held on site at the Ulan Underground Training room on Wednesdays starting at 6 am and running for approximately 9 hours. This booking will be taken by DMS at the same time you book your familiarisation if required. All paperwork requirements must be adhered to.
The Ulan coal mines are located 310 km northwest of Sydney and 45 km northeast of Mudgee in the Western Coalfields of New South Wales. The 24/7 operation consists of a drag line, a 400 m wide long wall miner, a coal handling and preparation plant, conveyors, a rail load out facility, a rail to port facility and an industrial water reuse scheme. The mining operations employ a total of 414 people, mostly locals.
