Damstra Mining Services are no longer accepting EFT payments for any transaction prior to invoicing. Alternative payment options are: Purchase Order, cheque (must supply a cheque with paperwork), & credit card. Upon receipt of invoice by your company, EFT payments are accepted.
The process used to book inductions has changed. Please read the process outline detailed in this document.
Please Note:
As of February 1st 2010 Newlands Underground will not be authorising any late inclusions to inductions as per a recent directive from Newlands.
All completed paperwork for an induction is required at our office no later than 4 Full business days prior to the induction and there will be no exceptions to this cut-off date.
Pre-Induction Approval Process
This process applies to all contractors, including reinductions for Underground Surface & Underground Inductions.
1) All contractors requiring an Underground Surface or Underground Induction will need to complete Form ‘XF-009’ and forward to your Xstrata Newlands Underground Representative, along with a copy of your current Coal Board Medical.
2) This will be assessed at site level & the relevant Xstrata Newlands Representative will forward the signed approval form to Damstra Mining Services to allow the Induction booking to proceed.
3) After Damstra Mining Services has received the approval to accept the booking, an email will be sent to the company to arrange a suitable date for the Induction, request any outstanding information required to secure & confirm the Induction booking as per the Pre-Induction Checklist.
Post-Induction Approval Process
Contractors are not permitted to commence work onsite until Post-Induction Approval is received by Damstra Mining Services. Allow 1-2 days for approval to be processed. Please contact Damstra Mining Services via email (inductions@damstra.com.au) to confirm if approval has been received. It may be necessary to follow up with your Xstrata Newlands Representative to ensure there are no issues if approval is outstanding.
The Newlands mines are owned by the NCA Joint Venture whose beneficial owners are Xstrata Coal Queensland Ltd and Itochu Corporation. The mines are operated by Xstrata Coal Queensland Pty Ltd. The mines are located 130 km west of Mackay.
Please be advised
1) Lunch is not provided on day of induction so please ensure attendees provide their own.
2) All procedures relevant to Newlands Coal are enforced throughout the induction process. This includes the Fitness for Work procedure (incorporating Drug & Alcohol, Fatigue and Psychological Impairment).
3) Ensure relevant PPE is worn (onsite only) – This includes work clothes, safety boots, helmet and glasses.
